The Forgotten Flatback and Marine Turtles of Northwest Australia - the Kimberley

Globally significant populations of sea turtles that live in the Northwest of Australia face immediate threats from industrial development and need the world's attention. Vibrant with red rock, white beaches and turquoise seas, this little-known and sparsely civilized corner of Australia is home to flatbacks, greens, loggerheads, hawksbills, olive ridleys and the mysterious leatherback. All except the leatherback nest on islands and beaches of the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. All six species are in danger of extinction and are protected by State, Commonwealth and International laws and treaties.

See below to be taken to our campaign pages to learn more about the unique flatback and other marine turtles of Australia, the Kimberley, and what you can do to help.

If you can, please click here to make a contribution now to support the Sea Turtle Restoration Project's work to protect sea turtles in Australia.  Thank you.
