Satellite Tagged Turtle Leaves Cocos Island

Posted by Todd Steiner, Executive Director: on September 30th, 2009

YURI, our male Pacific green (black) tagged with a satellite transmitter at Cocos Island last month appears to have left the relative safety of Cocos Island and is 179 km east of the Island.

NONIE, our female Pacific green (black) tagged with a satellite transmitter at Cocos Island moved 75 km east, but now seems to be headed back to Cocos.
